Diabetes is a significant driver of health care costs and a complicating factor to many other health conditions, like obesity and depression. The Action Group is part of a national initiative to improve diabetes education and care at the community level, in collaboration with employers statewide.
This effort includes promoting the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP), led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Carolyn Pare has represented The Action Group and its members as part of the Executive Team of the Minnesota Diabetes Collective Impact Initiative. As a member of this committee, Carolyn has worked with a variety of health care, community, and business leaders to better understand the impact of diabetes in Minnesota, and to bring the NDPP program to life through employers in specific communities across the state.
