Over 40 Guiding Coalition members from more than 20 organizations, along with 17 Action Group members, collaborated for nearly two years to uncover solutions to the specialty drug challenges affecting employers, public purchasers, and individuals. Representatives from employers, health plans, pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs), specialty pharmacies, provider organizations, and drug manufacturers set aside their differences to develop and agree on 20 goals to drive change.
As one Guiding Coalition member said:
“We’re sharing our ideas and expertise — essentially our secret sauce — which is only possible because of a real feeling of camaraderie and trust, and a commitment to making things better.”
All community stakeholders, including employers and purchasers, legislators and staff, health policy experts, representatives from health plans, PBMs, specialty pharmacies, provider organizations and drug manufacturers, and other interested parties.
